Mcai Women's cell

MCAI Buzz - 25 Oct 2019

Dear Member of MCAI

Season’s Greetings & a very Happy Diwali

It’s a matter of pride that MCAI will soon be celebrating 100 lady composers in our Association’s fold.

Since MCAI has become an integral part of APMA (Asia-Pacific Music Creators Alliance), while attending APMA’s meets, I have realised the necessity of a Women’s cell of MCAI, as in the rest of the world,  to deal with specific women related Issues.

Those who have attended MCAI’s Latest AGM are witness of the formation of MCAI’s Women Cell. Ms Sangeeta Pant, Ms Anahita Shetty & Ms Rupsha Mukherjee have come forward to take up the reins of affaires pertaining with women.

The Women's Cell will look after the problems and welfare of the women members, facilitate redressal of their grievances and shall cater to the issues/ grievances concerning women Composers. The Cell will also conduct a survey within the Association and collect suggestions/ recommendations from women members on issues concerning them so that appropriate action could be taken in the matter with a view to helping them.

The Women's Cell will review various programmes of the Association and recommend revisions. The Women's Cell would promote all round development of women members of the MCAI,  through informal interaction and education, personal meetings and professional Issues. Women’s Cell will educate them as to how to deal with “Me Too” sort of incidences, health care assistance, training for skill formation and in the creation of a environment conducive to the growth of women.

They will be in touch with you concerning the same, and also to identify serial offenders from the industry if any. Please extend your co-operation to them in  their spirit of service.

Musically yours

Aashish Rego,

Hon. Gen. Secretary
