About Me

Born in 1972, this young composer is already making his mark in the TV serial circuit. Besides, he has now been offered film music scoring too.

He does not hail from a family of musicians, but one of music lovers. Aashish's parents encouraged him to take up music as a hobby which then turned into a full time career. And take a wild guess! This was besides graduating from St. Xavier's college, Mumbai in Microbiology and Biochemistry ; 2 years of Law College ; University chess champ!!

He commenced musical education at the age of nine on the violin from Mr. Parvez Doctor, and also studied the viola and basics of violon/cello playing. Advanced violin technique was learnt from from Mr. Ivo Sedlacek (Czech Rep.).

Aashish then became a leader/soloist with the Bombay Players Orchestra performing a wide repertoire of music encompassing Western Classical, Salon, Chamber, Quartets, Tangoes, Waltzes, Marches, Intermezzoes, Film music etc.

He has performed with "The Sangat Festival Orchestra" along with musicians from all over the globe. Basics of piano technique and harmony were embibed from Mr. Tony Pinto.

When Aashish joined the film studios, he went on to became the youngest General Secretary of the Cine Musicians Association for three years in a row after which a heavy work schedule did not permit a continuation.

Later, he studied sound engineering in a certificate course from Bombay University. And turned into a sound engineer and violinist with the pop band "FIRE 'N ICE" performing a variety of music i.e. techno, latino, mainsteam pop, indipop.

At such a young age, Aashish has already scored the music for TV serials such as Kitty Party on Zee TV ; Dhadkan, Kya Haadsa Kya Haqeeqat and Crime Patrol on Sony TV, etc.

He has composed a song "Ek cutting chai" for HMV. The music for "Kagaar" on Sahara TV also won him the best Telly Award for background score.

Aashish has also worked on several popular ad films and composed the music for "Ceat Cricket Awards 2003".
