Amrish is a disciple of eminent classical vocalists duo Padmabhushan Pt. Rajan & Pt. Sajan Misra (since 1992). He was introduced to music during his childhood by his connoisseur parents hailing from Rajasthan. His formal training of Hindustani classical vocal music began under classical vocalist Mrs. Anita Roy at Shriram Bharatiya Kala Kendra, after which he completed Sangeet Shiromani from Delhi University. For Ghazals & light music, he has been since late 1990's a protégé of Padmabhushan Late Sh.Jagjit Singh. The Ghazal king was Amrish's mentor till his demise in 2011.
Amrish has undergone the traditional long route of years of learning & ‘Sangeet Sadhna’. He undertook formal training & Riyaaz under various institutions & Gurus. This makes him a seasoned & versatile singer, who on stage can sense the pulse of audience and can effortlessly surf in his wide repertoire of classical Bandishes, Thumris to his vast repertoire of popular songs, ghazals & Bhajans with great ease.
He also received guidance from various eminent personalities of music, like Messers Mehdi Hassan, Pankaj Udhas, Rajender (& Neena) Mehta etc.
He is an 'A' grade vocalist from All India Radio/Doordarshan and is also on the reference panel of artists of ICCR (Indian Council for Cultural Relations).
A versatile light vocalist, his repertoire has a wide range of great Classicals, Bhajans, Ghazals, Geet popular songs, etc, apart from many of his own compositions in all these styles. He has sung for many serials, jingles, albums and serials.

Acting Debute : Amrish has recently debuted as an actor. He has played the role of the famous Urdu poet Majaz in a film based on the shayar. The film '?????'- ??d ? ????? ???????? ?? ???
