Mumbai: Leading singers, writers and musicians from the Hindi film industry gathered to celebrate the memory of composer Khayyam at Model Town, Andheri Friday. The 92-year-old stalwart passed away Monday.
The tribute was assembled by the Indian Singers' Rights Association (ISRA),Talat Aziz and Sonu Nigam. Aziz sang 'Zindagi jab bhi' and 'Phir chhidi raat' on Khayyam's own harmonium, and urged fans to visit his grave at Four Bungalows to pray for his soul.
